SAM 2018 ANNUAL MEETING WHITE PAPER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES AND INSTRUCTIONS
The SAM Annual Meeting will bring together the world’s leading airway educators and investigators in Chicago, Il to discuss the best practices in multidisciplinary airway management.
SAM members who wish to submit a white paper proposal for review for presentation at the SAM 2018 Annual Meeting are asked to review these guidelines and instructions and submit their application/proposal through the following website: http://tiny.cc/
The SAM White Paper must contain content that is novel, practical, and /or advances the body of knowledge in airway management.

SAM is accepting white paper proposals for the following session types listed below. Reminder: You are encouraged to submit multiple applications/proposals.
SAM International Chapters
Members of countries that belong to the SAM International Chapters will be encouraged to submit presentations-based on a big picture, cutting-edge topic in their country regarding airway management. The presentation will be given by one presenter that represents their country, and are approximately 20 minutes in length. Presenters will speak to the overall title/theme of their talk, closing with a 15-minute moderated question and answer period. Standard audio/visual equipment and meeting room sets are supplied by the SAM. A total of three SAM International Chapters sessions will be chosen for presentation at the SAM 2018 Annual Meeting, and will be based on the quality of submission. Only one submission per country will be selected for presentation.
Expert Round Table sessions
Expert Round Table sessions are conducted as problem-oriented, learner-centered discussions. Participants will engage in a learning session with the opportunity to closely interact with the session moderator(s) and attendees. The Expert Round Table sessions are 1 hour in length with one to two moderators. The session is scheduled as a lunch session. Attendance is limited to 12-14 registrants. A standard meeting room set is supplied by the SAM. A total of six Expert Round Table sessions will be chosen for presentation at the SAM 2018 Annual Meeting, and will be based on the quality of submission.
All applications will be reviewed by the SAM Annual Meeting Program Committee and Sam Board of Directors
Each application/proposal is reviewed in relationship to current practices and future developments in airway management
Acceptability of each application/proposal will be evaluated on the organization and clarity of the proposal content and the relationship of the stated learner objectives relating to the proposal content.
All applications must include complete organization and presenter information in order to be considered for review.
You are encouraged to submit multiple applications/proposals. A maximum of 3 submissions can be submitted per presenter. However, each proposal must be submitted via a separate submission
ONLY applications submitted using the online white paper proposal site will be considered. Emailed applications unfortunately will not be reviewed.
Initial confirmation for accepted submissions will be sent only to the submitter.
All accepted submissions will be provided with further details regarding registration requirements and reimbursement rules.
If changes are made to an accepted white paper (title, content, presenters, etc.), the changes are required in writing (by email) and will also require approval of the SAM Program Committee.
Submissions that do not meet the criteria outlined in the submission process may not be reviewed.
